Dear Friend of Eight, |
|
| |
| |
We have exciting news for digital viewers. Beginning July 1, analog Eight and Eight HD (8.1) have the same program schedule. This is a major step in our preparation for the digital transition which is only seven months away.
Eight HD viewers will be able to enjoy our daytime lineup of PBS Kids programs and Charlie Rose, the overnight repeat airings of primetime programs, and our weekend batch of local, cooking, and home & how-to programs — even the Britcoms — with a crisp picture from our digital signal.
We hope you enjoy the alignment of these two channels, and we appreciate your support and feedback as we prepare for the digital transition.
Best wishes,

Brendan McEvoy

Check your converter box coupons' expiration date
|
 |
If you applied for your $40 converter box coupons from the federal government, be sure to check the coupon's expiration date. Coupons expire 90 days after they're mailed. As of today, the government will not reissue coupons for households who fail to use them within 90 days.
As of June 18, Americans have requested 17.5 million coupons, and one million coupons have expired without being redeemed. |

Eight's online tool helps prepare Arizonans for the DTV transition
What do you need to do for the Feb. 17, 2009 digital television transition? Three factors determine the answer: (1) where you live; (2) the type of TV you use; and (3) how you receive TV signals (cable, satellite or antenna). Eight developed an online tool that asks you about these three factors and provides your personalized digital solution. Find out your solution. |

DTV Q & A
Q: Is it true that the "cheaper" digital converter boxes provide fewer channels than the more expensive converter boxes?
A: This is not true. Price differences involve features (such as electronic program guides, timers with sleep-turn-off, or timers that work with programming your VCR). The biggest difference is whether the converter box has RF pass-through (also called analog pass-through) which allows it to pick up both analog and digital channels. These boxes, in theory, offer more channels but do not necessarily cost more money.
You can research the numerous models of converter boxes at EZ Digital TV. |
